Please indicate which project type(s) best align with your current business needs. These categories represent the types of consulting projects completed in this course and help us match your organization with an appropriate student consulting team. The final project scope is developed collaboratively by the client, student team, and faculty mentor.

Preferred Project Types
Students research industry trends, markets, competitors, and emerging opportunities to help organizations make informed strategic decisions. Examples: Industry trends, competitor analysis, market opportunities, emerging customer needs.
Students evaluate current marketing efforts and provide recommendations to improve visibility, reach target audiences, and strengthen engagement. Examples: Marketing strategy, digital marketing, social media, customer outreach.
Students evaluate opportunities for growth and provide recommendations to support future organizational goals. Examples: Growth opportunities, value proposition, product/service direction, strategic priorities.Examples: Growth opportunities, value proposition, product/service direction, strategic priorities.
Please note: All projects focus on research‑based analysis and strategic recommendations. Student teams do not implement recommendations or manage ongoing execution.

Client Participation

Client participation includes an initial meeting (approximately 1 hour), brief weekly meetings with the student team (typically 20–30 minutes and conducted virtually), and occasional communication via email to answer questions and provide feedback.  By submitting this application, you agree to make time in your schedule for regular meetings with your student consulting team.

Initial client meetings will be scheduled based on both student and client availability. Student consulting teams meet during class on Thursdays, making these times the easiest for scheduling weekly client meetings. If possible, please indicate your availability for the following time blocks:

RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

In consideration for your participation in the University of Iowa’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center’s Entrepreneurial Business Consulting class (Class), you agree to release, waive, and forever discharge: the University of Iowa; the Board of Regents, State of Iowa; and the State of Iowa and their students, employees, agents and representatives (Releasees) from any and all liability of any and every nature whatsoever that you may have, for any and all personal injury, including death, and for loss of or damage to property, caused by your participation in the Class, except to the extent such liability is caused by the negligence or wrongdoing of any of the Releasees.

You further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Releases from and against all liability, loss, damage, cause of action, cost and expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, caused by your negligence or wrongdoing, or the negligence or wrongdoing of any of your employees or agents in the course of your participation in the Class.

The undersigned agrees that s/he has read the foregoing, understands its terms and voluntarily signs it with full authority to do so.
