Thobeka Mthethwa

Mthethwa has more than six years of experience providing farming opportunities to youth through exchange programs in the United States and Australia. Currently, Mthethwa is founder and director at Youth Transpire Abroad, where she focuses on sending youth on farming internships abroad and mentoring them for business start-ups and investment opportunities in farming. She is also a deputy chairperson at Newlands Youth Organization, which facilitates career planning and provides leadership skills with the aim of changing the livelihood of young people. Mthethwa holds a national diploma in agriculture and home economics. She is committed to educating young people to regard farming as a lucrative business, hence contributing to Africa’s food basket. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Mthethwa plans to expand Youth Transpire Abroad to Africa and help more youth pursue training in agriculture to grow their farming careers.
