Biography

Castillo is a product strategist, designer, and entrepreneur working at the crossroads of artificial intelligence, user experience, and digital innovation. As an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Adjunct Instructor at the University of Iowa’s startup incubator, he mentors emerging founders, teaches design and product development, and helps shape student-led ventures from idea to execution.

Prior to his role at the university, Castillo was a founding team member and Head of Product & Design at ArgusAI, an AI-powered college admissions platform built in collaboration with former ACT and EduPath executives. There, he led product strategy and the user experience and design of multiple app product.

Castillo served as a Product Manager and Designer at Riiid Labs, where he helped develop AI-driven tools to enhance educational outcomes. His work focused on leveraging machine learning and user insights to create more adaptive and accessible learning products.

As COO of Nosh Delivery, he oversaw operations for a high-growth startup with seven-figure monthly revenue, managing cross-functional teams across marketing, logistics, and engineering.

Beyond the university, Castillo continues to build ventures, advise founders, and support startup ecosystems across Iowa and beyond.
