Patience Ziramba

Ziramba is a publishing professional, author, and blogger with a bachelor’s degree in publishing and more than 10 years of experience in the field. Ziramba is the founder and owner of Raincemba Publishing, a women-led, indigenous children’s books publisher that offers early-learning storybooks focusing on the environment, gender, and other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company aims to transform Zimbabwe’s reading culture, preserve African culture, and educate both children and parents. Using her seasoned publishing experience both in the mainstream publishing industry and as a freelance editor, Ziramba has built a strong social media presence for Raincemba on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Dedicated to self-development and impacting her community, Ziramba also enrolled in an entrepreneurship accelerator program to build her skills. She is a graduate of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, facilitated by the U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe. Ziramba is the winner of a 2021 USADF grant to help launch storybooks and change children’s narratives in Zimbabwe. She is also an Alumna of Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Center programming. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ziramba plans to scale up Raincemba Publishing and distribute children’s books to children aged 0-5 in Bulawayo.
