Arko is an environmental research scientist with a focus on solid and liquid waste management, having worked with Correct Engineering Group on resource recovery for the past six years. She is currently general manager of Green Cycle Technologies in Ghana, where she has been the driving force behind the successful establishment of a commercial wormery where earthworms are grown for wastewater treatment and organic solid waste management. Arko is also founder of WEM O Enterprise, a fungiculture business that grows mushrooms for food and soil health improvement. She also owns a clothing line, Yoks Weave, and trains young people to make crocheted clothing. Arko holds a master of science in environmental resources management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, she plans to promote human development and environmental sustainability in Ghana.
