Henrietta (Hetty Boat) Boateng is a vegetable and bee farmer with more than four years of experience. Currently, Boat is manager and co-founder of Be My Honey GH, a bee farming business. She focuses on addressing the wide value chain within the industry, from rearing bees to turning honeycomb into wax for household products and cosmetics. She also organizes beekeeping trainings, helping farmers and other participants acquire skills and an additional income stream. Boat volunteers with the Dress-A-Kid Foundation and Global Give Back Circle, providing financial services and mentoring assistance to younger girls. She has developed an interest in branding and product design, and credits her business ethic to the lessons she learned in the classroom. Boat holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ashesi University. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, she hopes to share her experiences with her team while continuing to advance her business and other agriculture-related ventures that benefit her community.
