Gift Govere

Govere has more than six years of experience in social policy, disability rights, women's rights, gender mainstreaming, economic empowerment, and promoting the rights and inclusion of marginalized groups in development processes. Govere is a program analyst at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), focused on promoting disability rights and inclusion, access to justice, gender equality, and Leave No One Behind programming. He holds a master's degree in sociology and social anthropology from the University of Zimbabwe, and he is pursuing a PhD at the University of Pretoria. Govere's research interests are the participation and inclusion of marginalized groups in development, leadership, and decision-making processes. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Govere intends to use the acquired skills, knowledge, and networks to continue advocating for disability and women's rights, and sustainable development trajectories, while also contributing to addressing the challenges and barriers faced by marginalized groups in both the public and private sectors.
