Benning began as office coordinator in the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center in March 20, 2023, after spending the previous 3 ½ years as office manager at Harvest City in Iowa City, Iowa. An established entrepreneur, Benning founded Neat Spaces, a residential organizing business in 2018.

A native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Benning earned an associate’s degree in applied science-office technology specialist from Iowa Central Community College in 2003. Her professional experience also includes providing administrative support and coordinating and managing events.

Benning’s husband, Michael, is director of digital marketing at the University of Iowa. The couple lives in Iowa City with their children Grace and Gabriel.
