Fall 2020 Venture School Cohort Begins with New Partnerships

The University of Iowa’s Venture School, a premier statewide program for entrepreneurs developed by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC), is coming to Mason City, Cedar Falls, Iowa City and Des Moines October 2020. Established in 2013, this seven-week program is built from a streamlined curriculum developed by the National Science Foundation I-Corps at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley. Iowa JPEC is excited to announce our statewide partners for the Fall 2020 cohort. The partners listed below will be helping Iowa JPEC bring Venture School to innovators across the state and continue to build upon Iowa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mason City

  • Kirkwood Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

Since its inception, Venture School has helped guide over 200 teams through the startup process. Jayson Ryner of ReEnvision Ag says, “I highly recommend Venture School to businesses launching or seeking growth. A great experience all around in learning about how to launch a business and make connections."

Venture School is now accepting applications to participate in its Fall 2020 program, which emphasizes real-world experimentation, customer discovery and Lean LaunchPad methodologies. The leading-edge curriculum uses the official National Science Foundation I-Corps curriculum and is taught by serial entrepreneurs. Participants will gain marketing expertise and knowledge to move their entrepreneurial idea forward.
