Repaint Studios, LLC, a participant in the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) Venture School, won first place and $40,000 at the Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition on Aug. 22 in Ames, Iowa.

Repaint Studios participated in the Mason City cohort of Venture School in Fall 2021. It is 

is a forward-thinking, woman-owned startup focused on reducing the environmental impact of home improvement with reusable, recyclable, and eco-friendly painting supplies.

Ten teams presented five-minute pitches at the Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition. NeuroPred, Inc., which participated in the University of Iowa’s NSF I-Corps program, was awarded honorable mention and $10,000. 

NeuroPred, Inc. develops software solutions to improve clinical workflows within the healthcare sector, with an initial focus on medical imaging for stroke patient care.

Both winning Iowa JPEC-affiliated ventures have had prior success in recent pitch competitions. Repaint Studios won $4,000 as honorable mention in the 2023 Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition; NeuroPred won $5,000 for a fifth-place finish in the graduate/faculty/staff/incubator startup division of Iowa JPEC’s Innovation Challenge in April 2024.
