Recent University of Iowa graduate Lily Hintz and her venture, Health Harmony, placed seventh at the seventh annual University Pitch Madness competition July 16 in Chicago.
Hintz was one of four representatives from the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) to participate in the event hosted by DePaul University. She will receive $1,000 in seed funding from the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center.
Health Harmony focuses on preventing aggression in dementia patients. The other Iowa JPEC ventures to pitch were ARBLU (founded by Jon Barns), an idea to revolutionize the snowboarding experience, Solace Biotech (founded by Keegan Fogarty, Nolan Mallery, and Ethan Hassler), an idea to innovate the biodiesel process, and WALT (founded by Jordan Walters), an idea to improve safety for hunters.
University Pitch Madness features student entrepreneurs from Midwestern universities who pitch their businesses to an audience for a chance to win prize money.
