Biography

As department administrator for Iowa JPEC, Akers serves as the human resources representative for JPEC staff, coordinates day-to-day office activities, and organizes the student employee program. Akers joined Iowa JPEC after five years in the University of Iowa Human Resources Benefits Office, where she was a benefits specialist. Akers has more than 25 years of experience in human resources functions and office management. She lives in rural Johnson County with her husband, Chris. They enjoy spending time with their grown children, Jordyn and Austin, camping, biking, kayaking, and touring the country on their Harley Davidson.
